What Are You Thinking?
God knew our minds held so much power over us that there are several verses in the bible focusing on just the human mind. Focusing on thoughts that you have convinced yourself is true is very common. Listen, I am no expert but what I do have is experience and with experience comes wisdom and by reading God’s word and choosing to believe what it says. We are all in a war. One that we didn’t choose. One of the biggest battlefields is our mind. No one is exempt from this. Examine yourself. What do you think about the most? Good thoughts or bad thoughts? “So a man thinks in his heart, so is he” Proverbs 23:7″ . All our thoughts are derived from our hearts. Many people are stuck at the same place in life because of thoughts like “I can’t”, “But what if I’m not good enough”, and “What if I fail?”. Well… “YOU CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO GIVES YOU STRENGTH”, YOU ARE ENOUGH! Philippians 4:13 . David thought he was enough by not focusing on what was in front of him (Goliath, a 6 ft 7 or 6 ft 9 giant) but setting his MIND on what God told him he was able to do. The next time a toxic or negative thought comes to mind reject it and ask yourself who do you believe? Do you believe what God says about you or what Satan is trying to convince you is true? You will remain captive to your own thoughts and imaginations. Today is a new day. Start over. The Bible says be renewed by your mind and to set your mind on things above.
When you read the word let it take root and ask God to help you engage in scripture. I prayed that same prayer and scripture verses that I’ve read 50 million times started to take root and had a whole brand new meaning to me. You need to arm yourself with the Word Of God, memorizing scripture that deals with the area you are struggling with, that is your shield of protection “Your truth is my shield and buckler Psalms 91: 4
Choose what to think. It really is a choice. Just like you have the choice on what to watch on TV, it is the same way with your thoughts. “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”
Philippians 4:8
When I read this above scripture for the millionth time “whatever things are TRUE” took on a whole new meaning. What’s true? Not the ex boyfriend/girlfriend that verbally hurt you, not the mean things your mom or dad might’ve said, or a co worker.
Only what the word of God says “I am beautifully and wonderfully made” “He has given his Angels charge over me”
Your thoughts have a lot of power!
Keep your mind on things above!
Read, Read the Word!
Pray, Pray like crazy!
God Loves You!
Yeees!! The battle is won in the mind. Glory to God. I so needed this!!
